Lilypad Lacquer - Rainbows in Space

Rainbows in space!!
Appearance: When not in strong light or sunlight, it comes across as a plain black polish...but upon closer inspection you will see it is an amazing black polish with a whole rainbow of holo colors in it!
Application: Smooth, required at least 2 coats to be fully opaque.
Pictures: All inside.

Lilypad Lacquer - Minty

Lilypad Lacquer Minty!
Appearance: This polish is a gorgeous   pastel mint colo. The shimmer/holo wasn't as strong as with other LPL colors but I still love it all the same!
Application: Polish went on smoothly, after 3 coats it still seemed pretty transparent :/ would recommend 3 coats or wearing it over a similar shade.
Pictures: All taken inside in artificial lighting

ILNP - Contraband

I Love Nail Polish - Contraband.
Appearance: This polish is a deep grape purple with blue and silvery flecks in it.
Application: Polish was thick and harder to apply than I am used to. Not as much shimmer as I expected (I've been spoiled by CBL hah!)
Pictures: Top taken in artificial lighting, bottom two taken outside in an attempt to show some sparkle.

Colors by Llarowe - Young Turks

Young Turks <3
Appearance: This color is a rich mixture of blue-teal and as always is full of shimmery holo goodness!
Application: Went on smooth as always, took 3 coats to be fully opaque.
Pictures: Due to me having the stomach flu, no pictures were taken outside, though its still shimmery inside!!

Colors by Llarowe - CBH

Colors by Llarowe - Courage, Brains, Heart! This color is from the April a box Indied and is no longer for sale.
Appearance: CBH is a beautiful deep magenta color, with a whole rainbow spectrum or holo shimmer! And man this baby really shimmered in the sun!
Application: Smooth as always <3 This is 3 coats, but it would have been fine with 2!
Pictures: Top two and far left are all outside in the sunlight! bottom two are inside with artificial lighting.

Lilypad Lacquer - Too Much Excitemint!

Too Much Excitemint!
This polish was too much excitement! I looked everywhere for it and finally got it!
Appearance: Too much excitemint is a rich spearmint green, this polish is filled with holo shimmer :D
Application: Smooth, was a 2 coater!
Pictures: all pictures taken in bathroom with fake lightning except the bottom right :) taken outside in the sun!

Cbl - Mojito

I don't think words could explain how much I LOVE this polish. This is a must have in any Cbl fan collection.
Appearance: Mojito is a crazy amazing beautiful green with a butt load of holo shimmer. Mojito is what I would call a "mild" green, whereas its not hit you in the face green, but not a pastel green. This polish is very summery as well. Love love love it!!
Application: Smooth, was opaque in 2 coats but I did three just for fun!
Pictures: All taken inside, fake lighting.

Cbl - Paper Moon

This seems to be everyone's favorite Cbl, but I wasn't as wowed by it as I was the other colors I have listed so far :(
Appearance: Paper Moon is a shimmer holo lilac color. Its light color makes it a delicate looking polish.
Application: As with all Cbl, application was a dream. This polish took 3 coats as it was very sheer. Dried quickly.
Pictures: All pictures taken under false lighting in my bathroom, but look at that sparkle!

CbL - OABTRAD (Orchids are better than roses any day)

Appearance: OABTRAD is a shimmer magenta color that just explodes with shine in the sun.
Application: Like a dream, full coverage in two coats. (I did three out of habit)
Pictures: Top two and bottom right were in my bathroom (normal lighting) and the bottom left is with real sunlight :) showing off all of the deep magenta and silver holo!

CbL - Come Dance the Hora

Colors by llarowe "come dance the hora"

First I have to say that it is so lovely in person!!
Appearance: Come dance the Hora is a shimmery silver Holo, with small-medium blue glitters.
Application: As with all CbL application was smooth, it took 3 coats to get it fully opaque as the polish itself is sheer. Glitter application was fair, it wasn't too difficult to get the glitter to come out of the bottle and it spread pretty evenly.
Pictures: The left pictures were in my bathroom (fake lighting), the right picture was in the car in full sunlight. I wish the pictures could do this polish justice!

Why I made this blog

Hi there! My name is Deni and as the title implies, I am an amateur at nail painting. My goal is to show you real swatches, ones made on not so perfect hands with not so perfect lighting. I really got into the Polish world a few years back and have found that over time I started to fall more in love with the idea of how my hands would look "just like" the beautiful hands of the most highly known swatchers. Now these ladies are amazing, but I searched far and wide for what I thought in my mind to be...realistic swatches. Swatches made on hands that have mediocre cuticles, and honestly my nails are average length(most of the time). My site is in no way intended to insult the lovely talented ladies who do swatches, this is just my way of showing off my plain Jane nails wearing some crazy beautiful polish. So, enjoy!
